This cleaner smells to me like a hint of cucumber with a fruity base. It’s a nice sized bottle that looks great in a bathroom or kitchen and is multi-functional. It should last quite a long while as a little goes a long way, and the bottle is good quality and shouldn’t leak. Non-toxic natural cleaners are so important for child and pet safety. 4 stars as it’s a bit spendy, but that’s the only downside. It cleans up kitchens and bathrooms and leaves a pleasant scent. Great multi-surface cleaner.

Murchison-Hume cleaner is in a pretty enough brown bottle (it's plastic though, not glass) with a simple white label that I leave it setting out next to the sink in the kitchen - and use it for almost everything and anything that needs a wipe down.I think I was most impressed that it handled the grease splatters on the glass stove stop with ease, with no chemicals. The scent is different from any other cleaner and hard to describe. It says FIG but it's just a wonderful mixture that is hard to describe. It does not smell like a 'cleaning solution' but it's absolutely not fruity or floral or any other words to describe but different and clean smelling.I've found I really love the cleaner, the only thing I would change is if it came in a glass bottle and not plastic, however at least this way it won't break if it tumbles into the sink or on the floor.

I honestly don't have any idea what figs smell like. I guess I assumed that they were slightly fruity smelling. If the fragrance of this is indeed true to fig, then I'm not a huge fan. It's definitely not fruity. I can't even describe what this smells like to me. It's not bad at all, it's just not yummy. Not a big deal, as long as it's not heavily perfumed or smells horrible, I don't care that much. As for cleaning power, yep, it is a basic, all purpose cleaner that works decently well. I don't expect an all purpose to do any heavy, greasy work on my stove, and it doesn't. But it's really nice for my counters and general surfaces around the house. The real reason I got this is because it's supposed to be plant based. And maybe it truly is. I don't have the time to look up the unpronounceable ingredients list, but I guess I expected to see things like essential oils and more familiar ingredients and whatnot that you see in other plant based cleaners. They clearly list the ingredients and that's on me for not paying enough attention to them before I ordered it. Regardless, this works great as a basic all around cleaner, but I don't think I'll order any more. It's an average rating from me. UPDATE: The more I use this, the more it is now leaking from the area above the cap that you tighten. As in , I cannot tighten the cap in order to stop the leak. I have to keep the bottle level as I spray, or the fluid will drip out all over my hand if I tilt the bottle down in order to point it at my counters. I stand by my initial review as far as it's cleaning ability goes.
