I like hydration fluids for those hot summer days when you are playing or working hard and need to recover some electrolytes. But I hate carrying the bulky powder bags or floppy sleeves in my pocket or backpack. The Drinkits hydration supplements are perfect because they are packaged in a hard (recyclable) plastic tube. The fizzy tablets begin to dissolve immediately, even in cold water without creating dry floaty powder globs. One tablet treats 16 oz of water, which is a typical water bottle (two cups).But most importantly, these tablets taste good. They are not overly sweet or super strong tasting, but you really get a sense of ginger and lime or lemon-lime (depending on which tablet you choose). I like that the sweetness comes from the Stevia leaf and not just a bunch of cane sugar. I like that the container seals until I am ready to open it, and I like the "fun" fizzy dissolving. I removed the lids of both the lemon lime and the ginger lime containers, and smelled the tablets - the scents are strong.I followed the directions on the product container: add 1 tab to 16-oz of water.Then, I waited for the tablet to dissolve (took just a couple of minutes), and drank it.The lemon lime variety had a citrus flavor, but did not taste too sour.The ginger lime variety had more of a sour taste (lime), and not as much tartness (ginger).Nearly all the tablet dissolves, although I can see tiny pieces at the bottom of the cup.Overall, I find these tablets to be useful for the times when I want to rehydrate, and I like the taste.

I liked both the Lemon-lime and the Ginger-lime. Was worried that the Ginger would be overpowering, but it is pretty tame. Tablets dissolve quickly and completely. Tablets are a bit too big to fit whole in a standard disposable plastic water bottle, but fit no problem in my reusable insulated bottle. It had a chalky calcium carbonate flavor with just a hint of lime, and the sweetness from Stevia left an unpleasant aftertaste. Despite feeling more hydrated after finishing the bottle, I preferred the taste of plain water.The next day, I tried the ginger lime flavor, which I found more palatable, but it still had that lingering Stevia aftertaste that left me feeling thirsty. I believe the formula could be improved by increasing the natural sweetness from ginger root extract instead of relying on Stevia. Overall, while the concept and hydration benefits are there, the taste needs refinement for these tablets to become a go-to option.
