Andrea
but it is good info to know so that I don't buy it ...

Interesting info on the peppermint Aura Cacia oil. I have purchased peppermint oil from many sources, including purchasing the Aura Cacia organic peppermint oil. This version (white label, non-organic) smells very bitter and rancid. The seller, Pharmapacks, would not assist except to tell me to contact the manufacturer. The rep told me that this is a "first distillation" and not the more common "second distillation" and that some people do notice the more bitter smell of the peppermint. So I won't likely use this, but it is good info to know so that I don't buy it again because it's not the scent that I was looking to diffuse and it basically ruined the blends that I was previously happily diffusing. All I smell is that rotten bitter smell. It's strange, because I thought the Doterra brand was supposed to be high quality, but their peppermint oil beadlets certainly don't taste like anything but strong peppermint - no bitterness. So....I'll try what the rep suggested which was to leave the cap off and "air it out." If that doesn't work I guess I'll throw it away.I've probably made a butt out of myself to the essential oil experts (tell me something I don't know Andrea) but other dummies like me may not like to smell rancid bitter peppermint through their diffuser either, so now they know too.
