(first picture is color right after dyeing, second is color a month later - my ends were damaged way before this, which is what motivated me to try and find a no-lift option so I can grow them out for a while without more damage)I was excited to try this but also a little nervous from some of the other reviews. I didn't think I'd mind a very dark black - that probably would've been a plus for me honestly - but I only color my hair once every 3-4 months so I was really hoping it didn't wash right out like some folks said it did for them.Here's what I need to remember for next time:1. order an extra pack just in case!I have barely shoulder-length, thin hair and 1 pack covered about 85% of my hair. Usually when I use box dye I have a little extra in the end, but with this I ran a little low by the time I got to the bottom so will definitely get extra pack next time2. Use a non-porous bowl or container instead of the one included!I have a dedicated hair dye bowl I use and I'm glad I did bc there is NO WAY that the powder and water would've mixed without spilling in that tiny plastic tray they include with it! Even if it did, trying to scoop it out would've made a huge mess for me, I have short fat fingers 😆For me, this had no smell at all (some reviews mentioned a terrible smell) and it didn't stain in the slightest! I didn't use a barrier on my skin but I did wear gloves. Even where the dye was in direct contact with my skin, it washed right out afterwards with no extra scrubbing.The dye was a little hard to spread, it said 6 "cups" of water but the cup included was a tiny little scoop so I'm not sure if I'll put a little extra next time to make it more liquidy and less goopy. It still worked great, just may have contributed to me using more in the beginning and running out earlier than expected.I was worried it wouldn't color as well or maybe would fade quickly, but it's been a little over a month now and my hair still looks amazing! It also felt less dry afterwards than when I was using a box dye, so definitely loved that!
