This stuff works miracles. I have an old dish washer that came with the house we bought and we also have horrible city water. This product is the only thing I have found that will get the dish washer super clean. I also used it on my new washer after I had heavily soiled clothing from my husband doing some dirty house jobs. This line of products have many other items that all work well. I have since stopped using the dishwasher as it is more of a hassle since it is so old but I would recommend this especially if you have minerals in your water, it also helps keep the spots off of glass when it is ran through the dish washer.

This stuff really worked. I moved into an apartment that has an old dishwasher. I put my dishes in there just to give them a deep clean since I moved them one place to another. They were already clean when I put them through the cycle. But oh my gosh when I took them out of the dishwasher my dishes were dirty and there was a white film and gunk on my dishes!! What kind of dishwasher actually make dishes dirty!? Lol. I ordered this and followed the instructions. I used the packets two and a half times. Meaning I used it three times but on the third try I only used 1/2 of a packet whereas the first two times I used a full packet of the powder. Now my dishes get super clean. I also use a rinse agent in the dishwasher which helps for glasses.

I did not expect much from this product because it is inexpensively priced. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find the product works very well, and that is does a very good job in removing the stains that come from our hard water. I have used it in my dishwasher and in my washing machine, and the Lemi Shine does an excellent job with both.I sometimes forget how effective of a cleaner citrus juices/acids can be. When it comes to cutting through grease and buildup, citric acid is extremely capable. I use a general cleaning product made from peroxide and citrus that removes grease better than any other cleaner I have used. Lemi Shine harnesses the power of citrus and puts it into a product that can be used for both the dishwasher and washing machines (and probably other products that I do not personally own.) A single cycle using Lemi Shine, and the dishwasher or washer both looks and smells cleaner.With washing machines, sometimes there is a small amount of water left behind after running which gets trapped from being able to evaporate and starts to get all funky/mildew-ish. Standard washing detergents are made to clean the clothes themselves, and don't really do a very good job at removing buildup from the machine itself. With dishwashers, you often get buildup of oils/greases in the unit itself, and hard water buildup on the spray ports can reduce effectiveness. Standard dishwasher detergents don't really address this, either. Luckily, Lemi Shine addresses both of the above issues by breaking down mineral deposits and cutting through accumulated grease/muck.So then you run a single cycle of your Lemi Shine. Your dishwasher or washer will look cleaner. It will also smell cleaner. It may even run more effectively/efficiently if you are in an area with extremely hard water with mineral accumulation that negatively impacts how well the machine runs (Lemi Shine does a good job at removing this sort of hard water buildup from ports/nozzles/sprays/hoses/etc.)So for the price you really can't go wrong here. This stuff works pretty well, it can be used in a variety of appliances, it is safe for machines, it's environmentally-conscious, and it's affordable. Good stuff!

I had previously used Affresh but they had changed their formulations and it has become milder (which suits a lot of people I guess?). I moved into another apartment which has a stainless steel dishwasher but things weren't coming out clean. I would get left over food on cutlery, white specks or black specks on my dishes. I put two Affresh tabs in and it didn't really do the job. I saw a lot of white specks (lime?) on the bottom of the dishwasher.Upon much research I found Lemishine and I ordered the box of three. I sprinkled one packet on the bottom of the dishwasher, I set it to a high temp, normal wash (I couldn't do the pause as I don't have that feature on my machine). Well, the machine was sparkling! It looked and smelled fresh and new! Note - this does not really have a smell to it in case you're worried about any kind of fragrance. But my machine no longer smelled "old" - if you know what I mean.I also put a packet down the waste disposal and I think whether or not you think it works, it's something good to do from time to time if you think about the amount of stuff that goes down there.My dishes are still coming out clean and sparkly, no more crud left on them. I'm still seeing one or two black specks so I'm doing another packet on the machine this morning. Overall, highly recommended, reasonably priced, and does an excellent job!
