Such a lifesaver for brittle nails!

I received this Rehab polish as a gift. First thing I noticed was the strong chemical smell. This polish probably has the strongest chemical smell out of my 200+ nail polishes. My nails are often brittle & split often but they have gotten so much healthier since using this Rehab polish. It dries pretty fast & has a glossy finish. I wear it alone or under my colored nail polish. Polish chips about the 3rd day for me because I wash my hands frequently. Highly recommend but keep in mind it does have a strong chemical smell.

Saved my brittle nails!

I have tried many nail serums and polishes that are suppose to help strengthen your nails and prevent breakage, but this is the only one that has worked for me.The primer comes in a glass style nail polish bottle and you apply it on as you would any other nail polish. It says you can wear it alone, or under nail polish as it is just a clear color. Personally, I just like to wear it by itself and use it on weeks when I’m giving my nails a break from polish. I will apply it onto clean nails and it goes on thicker than most primers. However, it dries pretty fast. I do 2-3 coats, as I like a shiny look on my nails and one coat doesn’t seems to be enough to give that effect. After a few days, it does start to chip off, so at that point I’ll apply on another coat. At the end of the week, I’ll remove it all off with nail polish remover before painting my nails and it is easy to remove off.I used to always have nails that broke often and split into layers. It didn’t matter if I took biotin or ate well, they always still broke and never seemed to get any better. However, after using this primer for 2 months, my nails are much stronger and there is little to no breakage. It’s not a fast solution, as you’ll have to use it regularly at first to have your nails grow out the old weak parts. But once the brittle part has grown out overtime, your nails will be a lot stronger!

Non-Toxic Base Coat, Wears Well Alone

This is nice, non-toxic, nail-strengthening base coat. I use it alone on my nails and it gives them a pretty shine that looks clean and polished. I started using Tenoverten "The Rehab" after I removed my gel manicure. Unfortunately my nails were a little damaged, but this polish seems to be healing my nails and it definitely makes them more presentable. The polish dries quickly. It has a strong odor, but it doesn't last too long. There's no chemical taste on my nails after it dries (not that I'm licking my fingers after I eat!). It does sometimes peel, so I have to re-apply every couple of days. I really like that my nails seem to be able to breathe when I'm wearing this polish.I like that this product is free of nasty chemicals and that it's formulated with some nourishing ingredients. It fortifies with horsetail leaf, and moisturizes with vitamin E and celery seed oil. Horsetail leaf is high in silica and is known to strengthen nails with continued use. Celery seed is full of anti-oxidants and phytonutrients that are good for your nails and skin. This product is vegan and cruelty free. Tenoverten is committed to healthier nail care for humans and the environment. I'm excited I found this brand!

My nails get pretty trashed from doing dishes a lot at work and home. Lately combine that with the colder weather and they're now at the stage of peeling and breaking. To be fully transparent: ANY polish I wear will tend to peel off from said work duties, this one included! I really don't think there's a perfect polish for scrubbing dishes. Where the 5 star rating comes in is I do believe this polish has helped create a stronger barrier between the chemicals and my nails and prevented further peeling when I used this base coat. I am going to continue to test this along with other polishes to really get as accurate a test as possible, but so far I am liking this one. I do think the price is on the heftier side, and I can't bring myself to spend nearly $20 on a single polish (I've never even gone to a nail salon in my life) BUT the bottle IS rather big, so it will definitely last me a long time, so maybe when you break down the price it's justified. It's perspective. I'm not one to invest long-term (the smarter choice) and opt for the smallest quantities to save money on the front end, so take that info as you see fit for yourself. I do think it's a good product, but I have to test it longer to see if I personally would repurchase it once I do run out.

Doesn't dry out my nails

I've used this base coat for about a week and a half now, and I'm impressed. I have terribly thin, ridged nails because of a chronic nutritional deficiency. I don't try to grow my nails long, so I can't say if this product would help with that.I got this because I'm always trying to find a product that will help keep my nails from splitting vertically down the ridges and into the quick - it really hurts! Other products I've tried never seem to cure and always get "mush marks" from sheets or my hair when i go to bed. Or they make my nails dry and flaky and more brittle.So far this stuff has stayed on with minimal chipping and has stayed shiny. I applied one coat and then a second coat per the instructions a few days later, and it stayed looking nice, shiny, and "groomed." Right now I have it on under a sheer pink and it seems to do what you want a base coat to do. It did NOT dry out my nails, which is exactly what I am looking for. I plan to keep using it and would likely buy it again.
