Anhydrous Liquid Lanolin

Anhydrous Liquid Lanolin

Low Risk

Anhydrous liquid lanolin is a refined derivative of the fat-like substance secreted by sheep's wool. It serves primarily as a moisturizer and emollient in various cosmetic and personal care products, providing a protective barrier to the skin.

Sustai Insights

Anhydrous liquid lanolin offers functional benefits as a moisturizer, helping to maintain skin hydration and barrier function. It is generally regarded as low risk for cancer, developmental toxicity, and use restrictions, though it may pose low to moderate allergenic risks for sensitive individuals. Environmentally, it is not considered a significant pollutant or bioaccumulative. Regulatory assessments confirm its safety within established limits. For those with allergies, alternatives like plant-based oils may be considered. Overall, the risk associated with this ingredient is low.

Chapped CPAP Noses, Rejoice!

Nope, Lanolin isn't just for healing teats any more.I usually use Aquaphor on my nose in the morning as my current nasal pillows can lead to some chapping. (sure I could try and find a more amenable approach, but I'm good with this process for now)Lanolin is thicker, so be ready for that, but if you can put it on in the morning and leave it alone, oh man- by the afternoon, you're in great shape. Buy with confidence.

Used for excessively chapped lips

This was recommended by a dentist for wear at night. It’s sticky and I usually wipe off the excess. It probably doesn’t have as much staying power as some chapsticks do but I would recommend it if your lips are really chapped. Don’t let anyone tease you about. It helps.
