We had serious concerns about our newly adopted puppy when her chronic coughing and demodex infection (commonly called puppy mange) wouldn't clear up. When we adopted her, she was in the midst of a round of antibiotics. The rescue agency assured us she'd be better in a few days. There were no changes to either cough or the skin condition after the round of antibiotics finished. We took her to the vet, where we were prescribed another round of antibiotics, plus a topical steroid for her skin. Still no improvement. I got a little 5-1/2 # dog from a high kill shelter who is approx 2-1/2 years old. Brought him home and he quickly developed a cough. He also had a very dry nose. He seemed listless but it was hard to tell for sure since I didn't know him. I suspected kennel cough and went online to find a natural remedy and found this. First I ordered it free shipping but by the end of the weekend I knew we needed it right away so cancelled that order and ordered it next day shipping with an explanation. The company took care of it just as I asked and got it to my by Tuesday. Started the protocol immediately and by the very next day he was perked up, and his cough disappeared (previously he had been keeping me awake with it during the night). I always believed the body should have a natural healing process. It is no different for dogs. The best defense against disease is nutrition. Having a strong reserve will keep them out of harms way. Our year old Maremma dog is still building that defensive immune system and was susceptible to catching Kennel Cough while socializing with the other pups at the dog park. I bought this when the antibiotics prescribed by our vet didn't seem to be working really well to get rid of my dog's kennel cough. Kennel-koff seemed to alleviate the symptoms quickly, and although it seems to be helpful my dog still has a cough after using it 4 times a day for 5 days. Maybe my expectations were too high from reading all the reviews but I will continue to use for the remaining 5 days recommended. However, since it has been used in conjunction with the antibiotics I can't specifically state that Kennel-koff was solely responsible for any improvements I have seen.
