Experienced 5-HTP customer

Hi, I’ve been taking 5 HTP for about three years now - stayed loyal to my first brand for a year, elevated my game to my second brand in the second year and now I’m on my second bottle of Thorne, and in no uncertain terms I simply have never felt better. I’m 60, healthy, post-menopausal, and I take two 100 mg tabs every night along with two magnesium and a bio-identical progesterone with a glass of hot water and 15 mins of stretching. I sleep like an infant at the feet of Zeus, honestly not only do I fall asleep well, but I also sleep consistently through the night, not that 5 HTP is just a sleeping aid, it’s not. My mental health is more steady and stable than in years. My well-being feels steady and stable. I simply cannot say enough about this relatively expensive product - I think I’ll stick with it. How can you shake a stick at feeling that’s good?

Praying I'm never without these!

More than anything else they really boost my mood. Yes, they help with sleep too, but that's never been an issue for me.For years I was the person who was always upbeat and happy. Then menopause hit. It was as if the world collapsed around me. Several friends were praying for me because this was not the "me" they were used to. They loved my previously sunny disposition. As most know, it's not fun to be around someone who never focuses on the good in life.Enter this supplement. I'm now back to my normal happy self when taking these. However...if I forget, my mood shows it.I'm very thankful for this supplement. It has literally been a Godsend for me.

Peace, clarity, relaxation

I used to take Zoloft years ago and with therapy, a healthy lifestyle, and spiritual healing I got better an no longer needed Zoloft. Fast forward to now, my last year in college(I went back to get my degree after 20 years) a promotion at work, I became overwhelmed. I did not want to go back on any Pharmaceutical medications I wanted to go a more natural way. I am on day 2. I sleep all night, am focused the next day, no more overwhelming and over thinking and impulsive decision making. I am more in control of my feelings. And I am not manic(Zoloft used to make me manic) If anyone is thinking of trying this, let this be a sign. We all are so deserving of peace and to be comfortable in our own skin without pumping it full of toxic things.

Really helps with depression and anxiety.

I have been tapering from 60mg of Cymbalta (I'm down to about 2.5mg now) for almost 3 years. It's been totally brutal and horrible despite how slow I have taken it. I've been taking 5htp since I got down to about 25mg of Cymbalta. THERE IS NO WAY I would ever make it through the taper without taking this 5htp.Not all 5htp brands are equal. This is the best one I have found, probably because it has the methylated B-6, and because Thorne is a generally a good quality brand to begin with. Cymbalta is an SNRI- the 5htp only boosts serotonin and not norepinephrine (just a side note, on the off chance that someone reading this is tapering off an SNRI), but still, I can't emphasize enough how much it has helped me. There are other supplements one can take to help with Norepinephrine...I haven't found one that works for me yet, but everyone is different. Also, other vitamins I take, such as vitamin d, methylated b12, and methylated b complex, have been game changers. My son (17) also has depression and anxiety. He takes this 5htp, a super high quality fish oil, vitamin D, methylated vitamin b complex, and a multivitamin. He is literally two different people depending on whether he is taking his supplements regularly (we're on good streak currently, he's been taking them nearly every day for over two months and is feeling great).I almost never write reviews, but something told me to tonight. Who knows, maybe it will help someone. :)
