This soap is a great soap for those looking for something that is mild and free of "junk" ingredients/additives. I found the soap to be gentle on my skin, it left my skin feeling smooth and was far less drying than most soaps I've used (I have dry skin). I have gotten this soap in my eye once and it gave me a dry uncomfortable sensation, but it was not anything like a painful burning that some soaps will have, so I consider this to be a kid friendly soap. Also, this is a hard bar of soap, so it seems to last me at least twice as long as some softer ones I have used in the past.With all of those pluses there are some important things to note:1. This has a strong musty smell when you take it out of the packaging (I found it diminished greatly after a few weeks, but it was strong at first). If you want to know what it will smell like, go to your kitchen and sniff some olive oil, and then think much stronger. I can see how this can be off-putting for some, and I was a little leery of the smell at first. I gave my skin a good sniff when I got out of the shower and I could not detect any of the smell on me, so I was ok with it.2. The lather is not as foamy as other brands you may be used to, and you have to rub it around few more seconds to build up your lather. I generally put the soap down before I even see the lather because I can feel the soap on my skin, but its needs a little rubbing action.3. This soap is more slippery than I expected. I dropped this soap a number of times the first couple of uses, which I don't normally do, so mind your grip.

This is a great bar soap. I use this in place of baby body wash on my infant. My husband and I started out using Johnson's baby body wash on our baby but discovered it would dry his skin out badly which then would result in a fussy baby (probably because his skin was tight and itchy). I decided to try this soap because I wanted something that wouldn't be so drying on our little one and not be made with anything scary, The ingredients in this bar soap were simple enough for me to understand; saponified olive oil, water and sea salt. There are no artificial fragrances, no sodium lauryl sulfates (SLS), no phthalates, no parabens, and they don't test on animals which is a nice, warm fuzzy feeling.Soon as we started using this bar soap for our little one's bath time his skin became smoother and not so dried out. We have been using this soap exclusively for our baby's body (we use something else for shampoo but you could probably use this as shampoo if you needed to in a pinch) and now, four months later, we are no longer having to use a moisturizer on his skin (we were using organic extra virgin olive oil as a moisturizer when needed). This bar also lasts a very long time. We bathe our baby every other night with this bar soap and keep the bar in a travel container when not in use. We are still on our first bar for him. This soap also still creates a nice lather for washing although it doesn't contain SLS (SLS is responsible for a lot of body wash products to lather but it can be an irritant to the skin). This soap is also non GMO, which wasn't a big concern with us but I understand it is for others. I have nothing bad to say about this soap, we love it!
