The Amish make great stuff

Love this beard balm. I am not a fan of beard oils, so I was looking at balms. The other balms that I tried had a bunch of wax in them. Honest Amish has very little wax and is a great conditioner for my moustache and beard.

Beard Game: Elevated

Review from my bearded beast! This Honest Amish Beard Balm isn’t just grooming—it’s craftsmanship in a tin. From the moment I cracked it open, the scent hit me like a blend of woodshop, campfire, and manliness distilled into pure perfection. Subtle, earthy, and natural—not overpowering like some of those synthetic concoctions that make you smell like a nightclub bathroom. The texture? Smooth as butter, but without the greasy aftermath. My beard went from feeling like steel wool to something you’d want to run your fingers through—not that I let people do that (often). It tames the wildest whiskers, softens without compromise, and keeps the beard itch at bay.And let’s be clear: this stuff works just as hard as I do. Whether I’m chopping wood, grilling steaks, or just dominating a Zoom meeting, my beard looks sharp, feels soft, and stays disciplined. Honest Amish didn’t just make a balm—they created a ritual. If you take your beard seriously, this is the gold standard.

Almost as good as the Heavy Duty version for long beards

I bought this accidentally - I usually get the Heavy Duty version of this brand to control my collar length beard. I noticed my error right away, the label is different than the HD, but figured I'd try it. The product is much softer than the HD and has more "grit" in it (which disappears as you apply).I put a dime-sized dollop in my hand and massaged it into my beard. 10 minutes later, my beard was tamed and manageable! There is a slight, waxy residue with every one of the Honest Amish products that I've tried - but not much. This - the original version - also has a very light, liquorice scent to it that disappears quickly and won't clash with any scent you might be wearing that day.Definitely recommended.

I know scent is light but I can't get passed it

Great product works wonders. Easy to work into beard. It is scented slightly like black liquorish... Not heavy but it's there to me. I hate the way anise smells so I'm giving away the rest of this now that I found "Honest Amish" makes an unscented balm.

Your face will thank you...

Wow! I am impressed. I am growing my first full beard and much to my surprise I've discovered that my facial hair comes in extremely wiry and course, kind of like an old used brillo pad left to dry out in the hot sun. After the first use of this beard balm the itchiness that was driving me mental completely disappeared and my beard was noticeably softer to the touch. After the second application all of those pokey barbed-wire bits were laying down and behaving themselves. This is a high quality product that has most definitely earned it's place on my beautiful face. The consistency is smooth and similar to that of a pomade that you would use in your hair. This makes it very easy to control the amount that ends up in your beard. It didn't leave my beard looking or feeling greasy or like I had product in it. It just left it shiny, smooth and soft to the touch. If anyone reports differently my guess is that they're using way too much. With daily use on a full beard this 4oz tin should last me months.I purchased this beard balm with some trepidation due to a handful of reviews claiming that it had a unpleasant smell. Thankfully I've discovered that the people claiming that it smelled like a "barnyard", "motor oil", "Jagermeister" or "vomit" have something seriously wrong with them that is distorting their sensory input. It smells nothing like those things and I would strongly recommend that any of you experiencing the product in this way see a neurologist immediately because you might be having a stroke. In reality the balm has a very subtle, clean, almost medicinal-like fragrance that dissipates completely a few minutes after application. Neither I nor my wife found the scent unpleasant in the least.
