Softens and tames without the stiffness of wax, I love it

I wasn't expecting too much from this, and it's my 6th or 7th beard balm I've tried in the last year or so. My beard is curly/wavy and typically very frizzy. This balm is pretty hard, reminds my of a deodorant bar (texture wise) but it smooths out nicey when rubbed between the palms, and gives a great hold to my beard. It doesn't feel stiff like a beard wax, but makes my beard soft and manageable. Even if my beard does start to poof up I can usually just smooth it down with my hands and it stays in place. If I apply it at 6am I usually could use more by 4-5pm. I should mention that I need to use a glob about 3x the size of a single pea (as recommended above), but even the smaller size seems like it will last a well and I'm happy with the value. It doesn't seem oily and I didn't really notice any increase in my beard's shininess as advertised, but i'm ok with that. The smell is a little strong, my wife doesn't care for it much, and the best way I can describe it is it smells like head and shoulders shampoo, maybe slightly sweeter, but the scent lasts a while and took me a couple days to get used to. I've had strong smelling balms before that after 10 minutes you couldn't notice it, but this I still notice an hour or two later. After that, it does fade but you can still smell it if you try. It feels like it does a good job moisturizing, I haven't noticed any flakes. If you're looking for something that gives a good amount of hold without being stiff, makes your beard feel healthy and soft, and don't mind a semi-strong, sweet smell give this one a try. You might be pleasantly surprised as I was.

Cumbersome but it works... kinda

The beard balm is OK. I'm not the biggest fan of the product simply because (1) I didnt notice it make much of a difference in my beard or skin underneath and (2) it was cumbersome and messy to apply. After using the balm I only noticed a slight difference in the appearance of my beard. It looked slightly more shiny but it didn't provide any drastic improvement in my beard appearance or my skin underneath. Note I am saying it didn't provide an DRASTIC improvement, there was a SLIGHT improvement, just much less than i was expecting. The application of the product itself was a bit cumbersome as well. When trying to get the balm out of the container I had to scrap it with the handle of a spoon. The material is considerably hard, almost like a chap stick type of material, and therefore needs to be scraped out. When you apply it to your face it feels like what i would imagine chap stick would feel like if I smeared it all over my face. The product overall is tolerable and i guess it fulfills the need it was set out to do since it did make a slight difference; but, I wont be buying this product again; the experience isn't work spending my money on again.

My beard is in love!

Wow! I've been using different beard balms for several years continuously now, (having tried and experimented with almost a dozen companies so far) and I have to say, this is by far my absolute favorite one. Let me just say, the smell is absolutely amazing! Most of the other balms I've tried had either a smell I didn't like, or a smell I could just tolerate, but this smells so refreshing and good (several people have complimented me on its scent). The balm itself is not greasy or too oily (it's just the right texture), and applies easily into my beard. I love that it's a "less is more" type of balm in which you don't have to smother half the container into your beard for effect, and it has lasted a lot longer for that reason than my other balms (if not the longest). It keeps my beard looking hydrated and sexy for hours, and assists in softening it to make it easily shaped and/or combed. I don't ever plan on switching back or to another new balm now that I've experienced this. The Prophet is the one :)

I like it, and so does my beard

Good product. Very nice smell and good taming qualities. I'm not sure what everyone else does, but I dry my beard right after my shower and then apply Prophet. I then comb through it and hit it very quickly with the hair dryer again on low and low hear, while combing through it. It does a fantastic job. This is my 4th beard balm I have used and probably my favorite as far as the entire package.Over all rating- 8/10Smell- 9/10Very pleasant smell and not too overpowering. Would be a 10/10 if the smell lasted longer. The hold is still there early afternoon (if applied in the morning) but the smell is gone.hold/look- 8/10There is another review that feels the same way I do. It tames well overall, but not some of the more wild hairs. I don't expect/want 100 percent tame as I feel beards are supposed to look like hair, not plastic or carpet. With that being said, I have had one other balm that left no hairs sticking straight up/out, and still allowed a well groomed, yet rugged look. I will say that other balm appear to "weaken" throughout the day. As the day progresses this balm holds better longer, that the other(s).Quantity- 8/10Wish you could buy a little more. This is the only size ive seen.Price 8/10Competitive price but I wouldn't go to my friends and say "Check out this deal!" I would let them know it is worth the price since I enjoy the product, but I wouldn't say it's such a great price deal that I just cant go anywhere else. Again, the product is probably the best I have every used, but my second favorite was only $1.50 more but it was .5oz more product.Skin-10/10This balm is soothing on my skin, too. My beard is about 4 inches right now and there are times it can be a bit itchy...but not with this product. First thing I noticed, outside of the pleasant smell, I didn't itch.Recommend product? Absolutely
