Nutiva is great, the coconut oil is so-so.

I actually like Trader Joe's organic virgin coconut oil better. Nutiva's is nice and smooth but for some reason I didn't like the taste as much as TJ's. To each their own. Nutiva is a wonderful brand and I purchase other health items from this awesome manufacturer. I just wouldn't buy this one product again.

all-around product :)

Great coconut oil. Doesn't smell rancid, smells of a lovely coconut scent. The coconut scent is not overwhelming, but faint. I've used this product in my hair as a moisturizer, and it was extremely effective and left my hair smelling wonderful. I tried this as a facial moisturizer, but it's comedogenic, and, of course, it broke my acne-prone skin out. However, as a lip moisturizer, a condiment on toast, used for tooth-pulling, hair/body moisturizer, this product does wonders.

Delicious, moisturizing, and healthy in moderation

This oil is almost solid at room temperature, but melts the moment it touches your skin. The virgin oil has a faint, pleasant coconut aroma and flavor. The refined oil has no odor.USESI use the refined oil for cooking, except when making a Thai dish where the virgin coconut flavor will be appropriate. I have fried fish in both, and they were delicious. It's non-toxic, and consumed in moderation is also healthy.I use coconut oil as a base for DIY skin lotions (adding almond oil, aloe vera, vitamins C and E, hyaluronic acid, a small amount of alcohol, tea tree oil, lavendar oil and lemon grass oil). It's a bit greasy to apply straight.Coconut oil is anti-fungal. I am on meds that make my mouth always dry, so I use a heaping teaspoon of coconut oil to swish out my mouth and moisturize it AFTER brushing my teeth. I swish for five minutes. It helps prevent thrush and bacteria from taking over during the night. A friend of mine says to add teatree oil and apply it to your feet, to help keep calluses soft and prevent athlete's foot. (Pure teatree oil gets rid of nail fungus.)I am a big fan of Nutiva, as well as Dr. Bronner's.

Mild flavor and a staple in my kitchen

There are so many coconut oil products out there, that it is overwhelming to choose. I recently adopted a Paleo lifestyle and I use coconut for cooking, cleaning and beauty care. The uses are endless and I keep discovering more every time I use it. I do like to keep the cooking products separated from the cleaning and hygiene products. I came across Nutiva when I was looking for Coconut Flour. Coconut oil can also be heated to high temperatures, so I have thrown out all my other oils other than Olive Oil which I only use for salads etc.as it does not have a high cooking temperature point. I was very pleased with Nutiva. It has a mild flavor and and the packaging is a nice size to just leave on my counter by the stove. A little of this goes a long way.
