Lipase

Lipase

Medium Risk

Lipase is an enzyme that hydrolyzes triglycerides, facilitating the digestion and absorption of fats in the body. It plays a crucial role in lipid metabolism and is commonly used in various food and dietary products to enhance fat breakdown.

Sustai Insights

Lipase serves as an effective digestive aid, promoting fat metabolism and improving nutrient absorption. It is generally recognized as safe, with low concerns regarding carcinogenicity and developmental toxicity. However, there is a moderate risk of allergies and immunotoxicity. Environmental impacts are minimal, but regulatory bodies have placed some restrictions on specific uses. Overall, the risk level is assessed as medium, and users should follow safe usage recommendations. Alternatives such as other digestive enzymes may offer similar benefits.

Bromelain

Bromelain

Medium Risk

Bromelain is a mixture of enzymes found in pineapple stems and fruit, primarily functioning as a proteolytic enzyme, which helps in the breakdown of proteins. It is commonly used in dietary supplements and cosmetic formulations for its potential anti-inflammatory and digestive benefits.

Sustai Insights

Bromelain offers functional benefits as a proteolytic enzyme, aiding digestion and reducing inflammation. However, it poses moderate health risks, including potential allergic reactions and high irritation levels for skin and respiratory systems. Environmental concerns are minimal, with no significant pollutant or bioaccumulation risks noted. Regulatory status shows some restrictions on product formulations, indicating a medium risk overall. Safe usage practices are recommended, particularly for sensitive populations, while alternatives such as papain may provide similar benefits with potentially lower risks.

Papain

Papain

Medium Risk

Papain is a proteolytic enzyme isolated from the papaya fruit, primarily used in cosmetic and personal care products for its ability to break down proteins. It serves functions such as exfoliation and skin softening, contributing to product efficacy in skincare formulations.

Sustai Insights

Papain offers functional benefits as an effective exfoliant and skin softener, potentially enhancing product performance. However, it is associated with high irritation risks for skin, eyes, and lungs, along with a moderate potential for causing allergies. Regulatory restrictions exist for verified products containing papain, reflecting concerns about its health impacts. Environmental risks are minimal, with no significant pollutant or bioaccumulation potential identified. Overall, papain presents a medium risk, and safe usage practices should be followed, with alternatives like less irritating enzymes available for consideration.

Protease

Protease

Medium Risk

Protease is an enzyme capable of hydrolyzing proteins into smaller peptides or amino acids, facilitating various biological processes. It is commonly used in food processing, detergents, and pharmaceuticals for its ability to break down proteins, enhancing digestion and improving product efficacy.

Sustai Insights

Protease offers functional benefits in various applications, including digestion enhancement and protein breakdown in food processing. While generally considered low risk for carcinogenicity and developmental toxicity, it poses moderate allergy and immunotoxicity concerns. Additionally, it is not currently restricted by regulatory bodies. Environmental risks are minimal, though care should be taken regarding exposure levels. Overall, its risk level is assessed as medium, suggesting caution in usage practices. Alternatives such as plant-based enzymes may provide safer options.

Cellulase

Cellulase

Low Risk

Cellulase is an enzyme that breaks down cellulose into simpler sugars. It is commonly used in detergents to remove plant-based stains and in food processing to enhance the digestibility of plant materials. Cellulase is derived from microbial sources and functions effectively under controlled conditions.

Sustai Insights

Cellulase offers valuable functional benefits, including its ability to efficiently degrade cellulose, making it highly effective for stain removal and food processing applications. It is generally regarded as safe, with low health risks; rare allergic reactions have been reported but remain uncommon. Environmentally, cellulase has a negligible pollutant potential and is biodegradable, contributing to its sustainability profile. Regulatory bodies such as the FDA and EU agencies permit its use, provided it meets established purity and safety standards. Overall, cellulase is classified as a low-risk ingredient. Safe use involves adhering to recommended concentrations to minimize any allergenic potential. Sustainable microbial production and the absence of significant environmental hazards enhance its appeal, with no direct substitutes offering comparable functionality and sustainability benefits.

Amylase

Amylase

Low Risk

Amylase is an enzyme that catalyzes the breakdown of starches into sugars. It is commonly used in food processing, detergents, and other industrial applications to enhance product functionality. Its effectiveness depends on specific conditions, such as temperature and pH, making it versatile in applications ranging from baking to stain removal.

Sustai Insights

Amylase offers functional benefits by efficiently breaking down starches, enhancing food texture and cleaning performance. It is widely recognized as safe and biodegradable, aligning with sustainability goals. However, exposure may pose irritation risks for individuals with enzyme allergies, particularly through inhalation or skin contact. Regulatory assessments classify amylase as generally safe, with no carcinogenic or endocrine-disrupting properties reported. Environmental risks are minimal due to its natural degradability, and its use in products typically adheres to stringent safety standards. While alternative enzymes exist, amylase remains a preferred choice due to its efficiency and low overall risk, which is considered manageable with appropriate precautions.

INSTANT DIGEST A CUT ABOVE THE REST!!!

I am currently on a SIBO diet being advised by a functional medicene practitioner. I have used this product as my enzyme choice for her program. I have just finished the bottle and have to say that it was very effective in helping me reach my goal of renewing and bolstering my gut ecology. After all, 80% of our immune system is in the gut. I am amazed that INSTANT DIGEST MAX STRENGTH has worked in such a short time. I am going to continue on with it forever (not just during the Sibo treatment). I feel really great and in such a short time; and I know this product was a big part of this progress, and final outcome. I am highly recommending this product. I have taken so many different enzyme products over the years and this is the best!!! Jan Marie Wall

I really does work as it says

I started taking Instant Digest not quite a month ago. I have noticed that I have way less tummy troubles. Before starting these Instant Digest caps I had to limit what I ate due to stomach upset & pain after eating. I have been able to add foods that normally caused upset without any problems. Instant Digest made it possible to eat a more normal diet without having to do a trial & error way of eating. So grateful. Going out to dinner was always a big NO NO, not any longer, I just take Instant Digest along with me & take it before my meal, such a relief. I can now enjoy a more normal life, having meals with family or friends & no worries.Prior to Instant Digest when we were invited to friends for dinner I would have to prepare my foods, pack it up to go & bring it along... no more... I’m free to really enjoy most all foods now without worries. Of course I wondered if Instant Digest would really work but it has proven to me that it really does & I am so grateful to find a great product that delivers what it says. Highly recommend you try this for yourself.

Works Good in the beginning....hoping for more....

I was excited to see this product as I have had stomach issues for years. The first couple weeks it worked great but now it seems to have not done as well. Not sure if I'm not doing it correctly now, or if it maybe cleared out some issues and now it doesn't have as much of an impact as the beginning. It's expensive but will give it another try if I can get another free bottle! I don't normally finish items, but have with three capsules left I guess that shows that I have definitely given it a try! Well worth trying though if you've had stomach issues.
