Lasts! But....

Our Pyrador puppy has been chewing on this for a week. All the marrow is gone, but she still enjoys a good hour or so with it each day. Helps save the corner of our couch, at least, lol! However! There's a downside: small pieces are breaking off creating a choking hazard! Not only for her but also our elderly chihuaha! So be forewarned!

Good for your dogs dental health

The femur bone is thick and therefore less prone to splintering. This is an important consideration since a sharp, splintered piece can get caught in a dogs digestive tract, possibly causing internal bleeding and, if not removed by surgery, can cause your best friend to bleed to death. I have an Australian cattle dog named Brumby, Jr. (BJ) and he seems to love the flavor since he returns to chew on the bone often and has been doing so for the past 8 weeks. It's like a toy with a great flavor.

I did a lot of research on different types of dog bones including brand-named bones to find out which bones I'd buy for my much loved dog. Several brands will chip and/or splinter and could be hazardous. However this particularly brand is known for making safer bones because of their manufacturing processes.Never buy bones from pet stores unless they sell this particular brand. Inspect your dog's bones frequently to check for nicks and splintering. My rather high strung cattle dog has razor sharp teeth and this satisfies his chewing needs.
