Potassium Hydroxide

Potassium Hydroxide

High Risk

Potassium hydroxide is a caustic inorganic base commonly used in various products for its ability to adjust pH levels and act as a cleaning agent. It is highly soluble in water and can produce heat upon dissolution, making it effective in certain formulations.

Sustai Insights

Potassium hydroxide serves as a strong pH adjuster and cleaning agent, but it poses significant health risks due to its caustic nature, which can cause irritation to skin and eyes. Environmental concerns include its potential to contribute to water pollution. Regulatory bodies have imposed strict usage restrictions due to these hazards, leading to a high-risk overall assessment. Safe handling practices are essential, and alternatives such as citric acid may provide safer pH adjustment without the associated risks.

Very watery but it works

Ok, this is a mixed review. It's a natural product which I'm not used to. I've just switched over to using all natural products that are good for your body rather than the generic store brands that are easy to use but have chemicals. It's important to know that before you read the review. This product is basically a brown liquid. So it's very runny. Ideally this kind of product would have different packaging like a pump because it's very hard for me to not get it everywhere. The product itself does work well. Totally handles any skin irritation and Im very happy with that aspect.Sadly the brown runny liquid part will make me want to find an equally healthy product that isn't this one unless the packaging can be changed. I'm wasting too much during every use and it's very messy for me to use. BUT, the product does do what it says. It does soothe my skin and is great for my face for a nice shave.

Great value

Bought because it is one of the only clean ingredient shaving products I could find and wow! Such great value! A little goes a long way and warning it comes out fast. Smells delightful as long as you like the sent of lavender oil.

Read this review. No nonsense.

My husband says he has been using a safety razor for 10 years. This works really well. Yes it looks like nasty dirty motor oil from a neglected car. The product delivers. He had been a loyal Poraso fan. No more. The chemicals in this is much healthier for your skin. One caution. Keep upright as a little goes along way. He wishes he had used earlier in his career. He was made aware of the toxins in our products and chemicals in most items.
