It's not an essential oil, so don't expect a nice smell - has UV protection!

I use this oil to make lip balm and so far this is the best batch yet - replaced some coconut oil with carrot seed and red raspberry seed oil for their natural UV protective effects. The end product was very smooth. I add essential oils to my balm so the smell isn't an issue, but it does smell like a vegetable. It's not orange/doesn't stain, etc. Just a darker yellow oil.

I was skeptical when purchasing, but....

But it turns out this is good quality carrot seed oil! This oil should naturally have an earthy(dirt-like), faint sweet scent. I couldn’t tell based on prior reviews whether this was the case or not. Out of the bottle it does have a sweet buttery note like another review said. Once applied, it has the typical carrot seed oil scent I expect. (Also, this oil should not be orange like some people expect. It’s not carrot oil, it’s carrot seed oil. It should be a pale yellowish color. If it’s orange, I would say color has been added.) This is really nice oil and a good deal. Not “oily” and disappears right into your skin. I’m really happy I bought it.
