Odor-Free Kitchen Compost Bin | 1.5 Gallon

This is my second purchase of this unit in two years. The design is very well thought out, with positive air circulation and a lid that pops up with a touch. It doesn't smell and it's easy to clean and change bags. But the first one broke on a mold mark suggesting poor quality manufacturing. I replaced it with a different type of unit but was disappointed with the smell and liquid accumulation. So I switched back to the Full Circle. I note that there is no longer a mold mark in the place where the previous one broke, so perhaps they've improved it, but the reviews suggest that my experience was typical.[EDIT] Unfortunately my initial impression that the quality of manufacturing had improved was incorrect. The latch that keeps the lid closed is misaligned (see photo) so it sometimes takes two or three tries to close the lid. Then, after three months of use, part of the bag bracket snapped off due to shoddy construction (see photo). I now have to pull the bags down over the sides of the bin while I look for a better product.

After going through two of the Oxo bins and having them both fall apart we decided to try this one and I love it. I love that it’s bigger so we can fit more and don’t have to empty it twice per meal if we are heavy on veggie scraps. I love that it uses bio bags. I love that it is easy to take apart and wash. I love that it doesn’t stink. The bio bags that come with it are junk so don’t even bother to try them. We get the bio bags from Costco and those work great. The only downside is that you can’t really use the bin without a bio bag so just be aware of that if you aren’t looking to purchase bags on top of a bin. I prefer the bags anyway so it’s been perfect for us.

UPDATE (6.9.24)I originally said no fruit flies but sadly, there’s many 😭 I still love my box but the fruit flies are still a problem. The compostable bags I bought are still going strong and I love them so much. The metal bar that holds the bag down is a little annoying but it’s fine.•••••••So far it’s AMAZING.NO MESS:Compostable bags (bought separately. GreFusion brand. Get those!) You don’t have to worry about hauling a heavy thing outside to dump and clean out! NO MESS! Since the bags are compostable, you just toss them in your compost and done!)NO SMELL:The box has an open ventilation system to reduce molding and keep the smell away. (It literally never smells! Our other one smelled horrible.)NO BUGS:In the past, we had such a hard time with fruit flies that we had to stop composting which was sad. But with this one, NO gnats, flies or fruit flies! 😱 LOOOOOVE it.GET IT!And if anything goes wrong, go to customer service and get onto chat. Ask to speak for a rep and tell them if you have any problems. They’re great! Or if you have troubles with them, contact the company and see if they can help. Good luck!

I have been composting for about a year & this is probably my 5th countertop container - & by far my favorite.Key is that it has an easy to push button so the top pops open when you have your hands full of items to put in.Second, it has this wire surround that allows you to securely attach the compostable bag. It can be a little tricky to open at times, but it works well & the bag never falls out.Third, the size is good. Some others have been too small.I haven't noticed much about the less smell that is a feature, as I generally fill it up pretty quickly & put it in the larger outdoor compost container.Fourth, it comes apart really easily to clean.My only complaint is that it doesn't have a handle. On my others, there is a handle so I can easily carry the whole container with me to dump out, but with this one it just isn't as easy to empty. Sometimes I carry the whole container, sometimes I just remove the full bag and take that out (only if I'm confident the bag won't break apart.) That's the only reason I took away a star...really deserves 4.5 I think.
