When I got this product the item didn't have the dye mixed in. I thought I got the wrong product and their customer service responded in less than 24hrs to all my concerns. They offered a refund or a new item but I felt fine trying it. Good amount of product in the tin and the hold is great for my thick hair.

I have been using this pomade for the better part of year now, and can say for certain that for only 10$ this is an extreamly worthwhile pomade if you want a cheap, reliable pomade for more day to day use. This would be a 5 stars for me personally, but I am giving it a 4 for the sheen. In my experience, once the pomade sets the shine is pretty much non-existant, contrary to what its marketed as. If I could give it half stars it would be 4.5.pros:-Easy to apply-Easy to wash out (though some residue will remain like most water-based pomades)-CHEAP-Strong fruity yet masuline smell (often times I forgo cologne entirely)-long lastingCons:-Contrary to marketing, the luster/sheen does not last long after application

I really wanted to love this, but I have fine hair, and it really doesn't work for me. I applied a dime sized amount to my hair and it almost immediately froze it in position. I needed to rework it, but the more I did, the drier and stickier it became. It's like a hairspray in gel form. lolThis reminds me a lot of Kristin Ess's Shine Pomade and Edge control product, but this one is not nearly as reworkable as hers. I went back to my old standby, the good old American Crew pomade. I've mixed that with the aforementioned Kristin Ess product to give the American Crew better hold before, so I might try that with this immetee product and update if it works out as well--otherwise this is unusable for me.

I've been experimenting with a lot more hair products recently, and this is the first pomade I've tried. I really like it. If you've never used a pomade before, definitely watch a quick video tutorial on how it's done so you don't end up with chunks of the product in your hair. This pomade goes on easily and really adds nice shine and hold to my hair. The most famous hairstyle to achieve with pomade is a pompadour (or something similar), but I wasn't going for that look. I was mainly using this product to give my hair more shine. I recommend making sure you like how your hair looks after you've styled it with this pomade because it is difficult to style it afterwards. But that's kind of the point--you want a pomade that has some hold!There are only two cons and they weren't significant enough for me to remove a star. First, the product wasn't sealed with a plastic cover or anything of the sort when I received it. Not the end of the world. Second, the product doesn't rinse out easily. Then again, it's also not that difficult to rinse out. Since this product is water-based it'll definitely rinse out easier than other styling products like clays. It won't come out as easy as a foam or most cream-based products though. I'm pretty sure that's true of most pomades.Anyways, I like this product and I plan on trying out a bunch of different styles with it!

On the product page the headline calls it wax, they call it paste, and they call it clay.So this is a clear product; I wouldn't call it a clay, I wouldn't call it a paste, maybe a hybrid between a wax and a very solid gel; more towards the solid gel.I used this after a shower with my hair damp.It left my hair darker and crunchy.If you don't like that feeling or look you can run your hands through your hair and uncrunch it, and you still have leftover, a sense of shape-ability and control.It does have a fragrance, and it seems strong out of the tin, but it does sort of fade once it's on your hands and in your hair.Use a very small amount of this to start, at least for short hair.My hair is currently about 1 1/2" on top and 3/4" on the sides.I like this product, but I have so many good hair products that this will not be my "go-to" product, but one of many which I will enjoy.I hope this review has enabled you to make an informed purchase decision.I rarely give an overall five-star rating.
