Scent-free bleach alternative

This is a nice alternative to bleach. Feels like a cleaner and gentler option for my little one's clothes and other more sensitive fabrics. It does brighten colors. It doesn't really brighten whites as much as a bleach would. It's fragrance free which is perfect for baby laundry.

No apparent effect on stains

This color-safe oxygen "bleach" or laundry booster/stain remover seems fine in concept, but has no effect that I can tell on the cleanness of my laundry. As a test, I used several of the included scoops directly in the drum of my front-loading washer, along with the usual amount of Kirkland Free & Clear detergent, and did a warm-water load containing some items with lightly visible set-in stains. (The product description and instructions are self-contradictory about temperature, with one recommending hot water and one saying cold. With most products of this kind, warmer water cleans significantly better.) The laundry emerged just as clean as usual, with no apparent difference due to the booster powder, including the still-visible set-in stains. Whatever difference the powder made must be quite subtle, because I couldn't possibly tell the difference after using it. Fine to try, but I wouldn't recommend it for dramatic results.
