I had hoped that the blood orange color would be as bright as the images, but it's actually very dark in person and against my skin. It was a bit shocking, and the dry, matte finish of the lipstick doesn't help the flatness of the color. The tone is more like a very dark brick-ish brownish-red in the tube, and on my yellow toned skin it makes me look bruised or dead.While on my lips this feels heavy, and it dries to a powdery feeling finish. It's almost like painting clay slip onto my lips. The lipstick even has a slightly clay-like scent, but it doesn't smell like any fragrances have been added, and it doesn't have any taste to me.However, I've found that this lipstick is excellent for a base underneath bright, orange or red toned glosses, and it makes a striking contrast against the skin of my face for an eye-catching look. The glosses help eliminate the dry feeling, and this lip color is very long-lasting.For a head-turning look and extended performance, this lipstick does the job pretty well. The formula is super creamy and this color, Sweeter The Berry, is perfect for fall and winter. I didn't find it necessary to dip into the bottle more than once, and I also noticed color is buildable with this. My lips didn't crack at all which is a make or break thing for me. That alone makes a matte liquid lip a winner, if it doesn't crack. It does wear long, so use an oil to remove or just exfoliate after washing your face.

This lipstick has a strong pigment that lasts. I applied it without a lipliner and it did not smear or bleed. The color is a beautiful shade that I think would look great with any complexion. My skin color is rather pale and the color is very striking, without looking over the top. I also tried blending it with shiny lipstick and it looked even better. I used this matte finish lipstick on the entire lip and then applied a shiny one toward the center. It worked great as a base and kept the other lipstick on longer.I would have given it 5 stars, but I don't know anything about the contents. I know its cruelty-free, but I don't know what is in it. There are no ingredients listed, which always makes me nervous.
