Overwhelming plastic factory smell after first use!

First off, there is a possibility of getting TSS from silicone cups. It is written in the minuscule print in the directions that I had to read with a microscope.I am sick of periods that go strong and heavy at 50, so my adult daughters told me to try the cups.I have a tilted pelvis and endometriosis which made me skeptical about using these. I’ve had much anxiety reading reviews on different cups and trips to the ER since cups get STUCK.I bought by mistake, Dutchess small after learning that women who have had natural births shouldn’t use smalls. I never used them in fear of them traveling into no-man’s land.I bought Saalt original and soft. The soft stem seems flimsy and yes, you’re not supposed to pull on the stem, so I used the original Saalt after my relaxing salt bath (no pun intended).I used the c-fold and felt the thing violate when it popped-open like a pup tent. I gave it a shaky twist. I panicked as I felt my body instantly suck it up- unsure if that’s the intense suction used in, what felt like, a government compression test?An hour went by and the more I walked around, I discovered my body actually doesn’t like it one bit. I could feel it sink lower and lower as if I was about to birth a rubber duck.I checked on Quackers and was surprised to find no leaks. I got it out after a few tries, dealt with splatter, cursed.🤮 But what is up with the overwhelming factory plastic smell??!! I boiled these and there was no scent until I physically took it out. This cannot be good at all!One of my daughters who uses this brand said the same AFTER THE FACT. She said the smell goes away but I think that’s very odd. Is there a human reaction with the silicone for first-time use?I am not completely sold on this method. I will not be twirling in white pants and performing period backflips any time soon.
