Saalt Soft Menstrual Cup - Comfort for Sensitive Users, Medical-Grade Silicone - Small, Desert Blush

Ok so long time cup user here. When Instead hit the market I was overjoyed. 8-12 hours, no leaking, no cramping like tampons gave me, no pads sliding half out of your underpants, no more sleeping with a towel underneath me during the heaviest nights. Added bonus was being able to have sex and enjoy it without the mess. No partner was ever able to feel it. The only thing I wished for was a reusable cup.FF to a point in my life where my periods were just so light that I really didn’t bother with anything. Enter early 50s and perimenopause. I will go months without a cycle and then surprise!! Either a super heavy flow or just yukky stuff. So I get some Saalt cups. Excited!!Then no cycle. Six months and I’m thinking well. No one is going to want to buy them. Brand new but still. Until today!! Boiled it. Insert went fine. Getting ready for bed annnndddd….I watched videos. I had tea. I took a bath. I’m a slender 5’4” 53-yr old with an admittedly smaller cervix (or so I’ve been exclaimed over several times - “look how small it is!”). I have experience with cups. Many, many cups. I could not get this thing out. Firstly, there is no way I can insert a finger AND a thumb to “pinch” it. I tried every angle - foot up on the sink, on the toilet feet up on my poo stool, squatting, non-dominant hand. Nothing doing. I had to have my husband, who is 63, wearing a headlamp and his reading glasses and decidedly NOT a gyno, get this out of me. It took like ten minutes of me bearing down and him trying to “pinch” it to get it unsuctioned and out. Really did feel twice the size coming out as it did going in, but that could have been his extraction technique haha.I am not trying to dissuade anyone. This is an amazing product, and quite frankly, for us, is now a memory we can look back on fondly. Thank goodness he’s helped birth calves lol.A little bit more about me - I am small boned, not as flexible as I used to be but fit for my age, and there’s nothing wrong with me physically. That being said, this may not be for you if you have short fingers (me), a small cervix, are perimenopausal, and have never had kids. Idk if any or all contributed to my failure to be able to remove it. I would definitely buy the ringed cup. More along the lines of what I was used to. Alas, those were not out yet or else I for sure would have done that.I see there’s an insertion tool now…perhaps a removal tool?

I’ve used menstrual cups for 10+ years and this is my honest opinion. I bought this cup because my prior cup caused a little discomfort if I was bloated or needed to go to use the bathroom. This is the softest cup I have ever used and while it eliminated any discomfort, it was ultimately too soft for me to use as it caused leakage.I’m a very active person. I do yoga 4 times a week along with a variety of other activities. My pelvic floor is strong. And I think it’s a little too strong for a cup this soft. I never had any issues inserting it because the design is great; the cup is average width, length and volume so I think it should fit most people well. But every time I moved it seemed to leaked. I switched back to a firmer cup and haven’t had any issues.I haven’t tossed this cup because I do like the product and am hoping that I’ll find use for it on a light flow day or a day when I don’t plan to do much physical activity. And I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this cup for first time users. But I would caution anyone with a heavy flow or a strong pelvic floor that this is a very soft cup and you might experience leakage.

Comfortable but it's taking me time to figure out how to it to avoid leaks. Still way better than pads or tampons.

It's super comfortable to wear. I used to hate cups but I recently got into them and this one just arrived. I boiled it to disinfect it. It is small and it's the perfect size for beginners it is also extremely soft which makes it very comfortable to wear. I may also buy the regular version. Obsessed!!
