My friend gave me great advice. "When trying a new menstrual product, give yourself a year to adjust to using the item. You didn't know how to use a pad or tampon when you first got your period, so don't expect that you'll get it right off the bat with a new item either."Because of my friend, I kept up with this and I am so thankful for it. I walk around a lot because I'm a college student. I no longer have to worry about butt rashes from pads or TSS from tampons. It has been a game-changer.Here is a list of things I had to get used to with the cup:Taking it in and out: This took me about a year to adjust to and figure out what was most comfortable for me when putting it in and taking it out. It was a bit painful at first because I wasn't taking it out correctly, but I watched different videos to see the options that were available to me when interacting with the cup.I experience small cramps for about 5 minutes when I put the cup in: This happens the first time I use it on my period each month. For me, it's normal, not a thing to freak out over.I still struggle with the blood mess sometimes in public bathrooms: I don't have a solution for this one yet, but I think there are videos on YouTube that can help with some strategies.Overall it's great. I know it won't work out for everyone, but it has made me more comfortable with my vigina and blood in general. So I appreciate the cup for the experience it has given me!
