Maybe I just need naps...

Oh boy, where do I even start with the Natrol 5-HTP Mood Positive Tablets? Let's just say that they're definitely something. I mean, sure, they come in a 50 count bottle and claim to promote a positive mood, but do they really?I'll admit, I tried these tablets out of curiosity and I'm not exactly sold on their effectiveness. I mean, I didn't exactly feel like dancing on rainbows after taking them, you know? Maybe it's just me, but I feel like a good night's sleep and a solid workout would do more for my mood than these tablets ever could. But hey, if you're feeling adventurous and want to try these out for yourself, go for it. Who knows, maybe they'll work better for you than they did for me. Just don't expect miracles.

Most Bang for Your Buck - It Works!

Natrol always produces high-quality products. Years ago I tried their 5-HTP product and it worked great. What I liked was that I did not need to take it daily. I could simply take it when needed and it usually started working within an hour. For me it did not work for:Appetite control. Sorry.Energy. Sorry. What did it work for?If I was feeling down, stressed, or anxious...it would stabilize my mood within an hour. It would make me feel like I was on an even keel. If you are struggling with any of those issues, you know that is a HUGE difference.Down the road I stumbled on this product with extra mood boosters and tried it. I like it even better! I keep it on hand. Sometimes I don't take it for months. Other times I take it daily. I simply use it as needed.Pros: Unlike anti-depressives, anxiety meds, etc...you can use them as you please and stop them immediately at any time, with no side-effects. Most antidepressants can cause you to have dark thoughts and if you quit them cold turkey, you can end up having more serious issues than you did before you started them or while using them. That's outright wrong. Natrol's Mood Positive 5-HTP can be used as needed, without those evil side effects. It's a natural method of helping you even out your Serotonin.Cons: If you are taking any SSRI type medications, DO NOT TAKE THIS at the same time. You can end up with "Serotonin Syndrome" which can be life threatening. You need to SLOWLY taper off your current SSRI meds before starting a natural Serotonin stabilizer. I have not ever tried an antidepressant, but I am knowledgeable regarding this. Read the warnings. If I don't take this with food, it has caused me stomach upset.Summary: I love this product. It works for helping me feel positive (not the same as energetic, but feeling positive can mean the difference in how one eats, exercises, and does other helpful things to increase energy).

The medication I tried either stopped working quickly or left me feeling like a zombie

I was diagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder many years ago. For me, this meant constant worry, nagging thoughts and panic attacks. The medication I tried either stopped working quickly or left me feeling like a zombie. I was numb, very sleepy and felt like I was living in a mental fog. So I stopped taking them and tried to manage my anxiety on my own. The last few years have been very stressful for me. I have close family members who are in poor health. I have family, work and am a full-time student. So after some research, I decided to try this. I also bought the Natrol Day and Night formula. The day formula is identical to this Mood Positive, by the way. I have been taking this for a week and can definitely feel a positive difference. When I take it, I feel calmer within 20-25 minutes. My anxiety often is experienced in physical ways-especially a sensation of a tight band across my chest. When I take this, I can begin to breathe more deeply and my body begins to relax. It is so helpful that I do not always need to take the night pill. I only take it when I get home late from class or work and my mind and body are amped from a long day. It has definitely taken the edge off of my anxiety so I have more mental and physical energy to get things done and am not as likely to feel overwhelmed with all that I have to do. Would highly recommend!

It calms me down and chills me out.

I have tried other 5-HTP and L-Theanine supplements but none seem to work as well for me as this one does. (It also contains a B-Complex, maybe that's why?) I take one with breakfast and another with dinner. If I catch myself feeling randomly anxious or having obsessive thoughts, all I have to do is ask myself, "Did I take my Mood Positive yet?" and usually the answer is no. Once I take it, I feel calm within an hour. I feel very thankful that this supplement exists.UPDATE: I am still taking this twice a day, still getting excellent results. Recently I've been noticing how much it evens out my emotions, especially around my menstrual cycle. Not only has it blunted my anxiety, but my anger as well. It used to be the case that I'd get really angry on one day in particular during my cycle, but since starting this supplement I haven't had any angry days at all! It's been liberating!8/22/2020: Hey! it's 2020, I'm still taking this, and it is still keeping me evened out. The price has gone up so I'm only taking it in the morning these days, and I'm taking a regular 5-HTP in the evening instead.
