Excellent for the working man

I needed something to keep my mustache in check during long working hours. As I work a 24 hr shift I needed a long lasting wax and this is it! I put it on in the morning before my shift and it holds all day and night. Even with the weather in the 80s it still has no problem holding and the smell isn’t bad either. It doesn’t have any coconut which is a big plus cause I’m allergic and I don’t like the smell. I’ll definitely be buying this from now on!

More of a balm than a wax, but good for what it is.

Originally posted on handlebarclubforum dot org.Overall, I like this wax for everyday use to give the moustache a bit of direction and to tame the wild hairs, but the hold is not strong enough to allow any style other than my natural curl. It smells nice, applies easily, and disappears completely.Reviewer's climate:US Great Plains, temperatures in the 80s F currently, 50+% humidity.Reviewer's Moustache style(s):Hungarian, w/tip curls on occasion. I tend to not use anything but lanolin a couple of times a day unless I need to curl the tips.My span is only a bit over 6" at present, so not a lot of hold is needed unless I decide to curl the tips.Consistency and firmness:The consistency is soft, a bit oily/greasy at room temperature.Scrapes up very easily on a fingernail, and turns into a smear almost instantly when rubbed between fingers. No external heat needed to dispense or apply. Combs through easily.Application and visibility:After smearing around between finger and thumb, application into moustache is easy.I find it's soft enough that I have to be careful to get it off the sides of my fingers, as it tends to migrate there when I rub my fingers together. It disappears completely into my salt-and-pepper moustache. (Mostly pepper, as of now.) I can't see it being very visible on any color hair.Durability:It's a light hold product. The tin says "Medium hold, with maximum possibilities." I don't think I'd try to get any curl to hold using this wax.On a scale from 0-10, where 0 is no product, and 10 is Got2B Glued, this is a 2 or 3.I've used it from time to time instead of lanolin, when I want just a bit more control.Durability is low, but the tin is pocket size, so easy to take with you for a touch-up if needed.Washes out easily with water and soap, but it tends to disappear by itself.Additional thoughts and conclusions:I suspect this wax might be more useful in the winter when it's dry and cold. For now, the hold is just enough to tame a few stray hairs and give general direction to the moustache.Seems to be kind to my hairs, they seem soft and smooth after use.Tin is nicely rounded on edges, opens easily, carries well in pocket of trousers.Has a "Best by:" date on the side. Not sure what might go bad, perhaps oils might get rancid? The Badger Co. very proudly makes all organic products.Smell is sweetish, vanilla extract with a hint of an herb/medicinal smell, but not at all unpleasant, and goes away fairly quickly.Assuming Badger Co. follows the standard practice, castor oil is the main ingredient, which would explain the oily/greasy consistency, along with other oils and Shea butter. Standard beeswax, with a smaller amount of carnauba wax.
