I ordered this product after seeing a friend post about it on social media. I thought...why not try it? OMG. It actually RELIEVES my knees of quite a bit of pain! I'm 41 years old and have knees of someone much older and this HELPED me with sleeping and even with just walking. My husband has a lot of pain in his toes, so he sprayed this on and was able to fall asleep to NO PAIN for the first time in a long time. Does the pain relief wear off? Of course. But you can apply this 3-4 times a day, so it isn't hard to keep bringing pain relief. Best of all, it sprays on easily, dries quickly, and doesn't leave a greasy or filmy residue or a smell either. I REALLY wish I had found this product twenty years ago, it would have saved me a lot of money from buying less effective products but more importantly, I would have spent a lot more time pain free...yes, I said pain FREE. NOOOOOOOOOOO J. R. Watkins Natural Pain Relieving Liniment is not a miracle cure it just gives you a break from your aches and pains which for me is miracle enough.To give some perspective, over the past two decades I have used almost every OTC arthritis/muscle rub produced in addition to the medication/balms prescribed by my physicians. For the past three years I have most often used, listed in order of effectiveness FOR ME; Blue-Emu Super Strength, Australian Dream, Myoflex, CVS Cold & Hot Aerosol Spray, J. R. Watkins Warming Balm, Castiva (Humco) Warming Pain Relief Lotion, Castiva (Humco) Cooling Pain Relief Lotion, Tylenol Precise. I have also recently purchased J. R. Watkins Cooling Gel but have not yet tried it. That list of remedies is now headed by THIS J.R. Watkins Pain Relieving Liniment.Pros: IT WORKS!! I applied it before bedtime and 18 hours later that elephant which has been stomping on my back and hips had not yet stepped back onto the middle of my back! I could actually flex my knee and my hip without pain with that first step, something which had not happened in quite a while. Most of the other rubs or sprays I have used are good for 6 - 8 hours max. * Inexpensive: A 4 oz bottle cost just under $12 and a little bit goes a long way. I have Osteo Arthritis pretty much everywhere, from my neck to the bottom of my feet. I have sprayed this on all the major pain points three nights so far and it has barely dipped the level in the bottle. Can't say that for the tube of Castiva. At $15 a tube four or five applications and that baby is history.Cons: Scent: The two active ingredients are Camphor and Menthol so, obviously, when I apply this I no longer smell like my Donna Karan Cashmere Mist hence the bedtime only application. (I may look and feel old but I don't have to smell old). * Gravity - As in, does not defy. As you notice from the picture the Liniment comes in a small spray bottle which is probably not a problem for some people but a big problem for others. Many people need products like these for their backs. Trying to spray my own back with the bottle right side up has been a bit of a challenge. Hubby works odd shifts and is not always around to do the honor so this can become an issue as the level drops in the bottle. I know there is a work around for this problem b/c the CVS product, which is an aerosol can and a knock off of Icy Hot, both products spray upside down. *Possible skin irritant: other reviewers have complained about skin irritation from J. R. Watkins products, this one and some of the others. I have had some VERY harsh reactions to capsaicin in the past and was SOOOOOOO NOT anxious to repeat the experience. Capsaicin is NOT listed as an ingredient but chemicals are chemicals and my skin is as old as the rest of me. In other words, I can't be too careful. Prior to spraying on the Liniment, I simply applied a thin layer of Vaseline to the area. Of course since my skin didn't burn I did not know if I had greased myself up for nothing but I decided better safe than sorry. On my third application I guess I was not as careful with the spray or the Vaseline because about 10 minutes after spraying it felt like a lot of pins and needles being stuck in my skin above my knee. Nothing at all like the burn from capsaicin and DEFINITELY nowhere CLOSE to the two days or even hours people complained of. It was just enough to let me know that I want to keep a jar of Vaseline on hand. Others may not need this, maybe I am just a big baby or a delicate flower...I guess the answer depends on whether you are a lover or a hater. 😇Okay. Why are you still sitting there reading? I have used JR Watkins white liniment for years. After seeing this I ordered with high expectations. My expectations were met. I have fibromyalgia- I get muscle cramping, charley horses, ligament cramps and just plain muscle pain that is constant. As you can imagine I have used and tried every muscle relieving product from hot to cold.When I use this spray it gives me relief, almost instantly, and it lasts up to 4 hours ( almost exactly!) The relief does not STAY away, THAT would be incredible, but it relieves me of some pain and the bruising feeling I get from heavy cramping.I spray just in the area needed, not a lot, and then it dry. It also works wonders on low back pain, for me. It also takes some pain away on my husbands ankles- WE ARE A MESS!!! geez-This is by no means a cure all, but my goodness it gives me some relief. Constant pain is ... a nightmare... and I hope this works for you!***SO EASY TO USE, by the way- and no heavy 'hot' smell, does not get on your hands, not HOT on my skin and the smell does not linger on my clothes....
