Tocopherol, specifically d-alpha tocopherol, is a naturally occurring form of Vitamin E. It is commonly used in cosmetic and personal care products primarily for its antioxidant properties, helping to protect formulations from oxidation and extend shelf life.

Sustai Insights

D-alpha tocopherol provides effective antioxidant benefits, contributing to product stability. It is sustainably sourced and generally regarded as safe, with low concerns regarding carcinogenicity, allergies, and reproductive toxicity. However, there are minor concerns about endocrine disruption. Regulatory bodies have not imposed significant restrictions, indicating low overall risk. Recommended usage practices include adhering to established safe concentration thresholds. Alternatives, such as other forms of Vitamin E or plant-based antioxidants, may also be considered.

Edta

Low Risk

EDTA (ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid) is a chelating agent commonly used in cosmetics and personal care products to bind metal ions, preventing them from destabilizing formulations. It enhances product stability and efficacy by sequestering impurities, and is typically used in small concentrations.

Sustai Insights

EDTA serves effectively as a chelating agent, improving product stability and performance. It is considered to have low health risks, including low potential for carcinogenicity, and minimal allergenic or reproductive toxicity. Environmental concerns include its classification as a pollutant, though it is not bioaccumulative. Regulatory bodies have noted some restrictions on its use, but overall assessments indicate low risk. Safe usage levels are established; alternatives include natural chelators like citric acid. Thus, EDTA is generally regarded as a low-risk ingredient.

Customers’ View

Customers generally express mixed sentiments about the effectiveness of the Espree Pet Shampoo. Positive feedback highlights its ease of use, particularly for quick cleanups without water, with one user noting it was helpful for keeping an elderly cat fresh. The organic ingredients, specifically the 100% organically grown aloe vera, resonate with health-conscious consumers. However, some customers report limited effectiveness in odor removal, suggesting that while it may assist with minor stains, more thorough cleaning may still require a traditional bath. Overall, while the product's convenience and natural formulation appeal to many, users recommend it primarily for light cleaning rather than as a complete solution for odor issues.

This can only provide the most basic care for cat.

When my cat uses this anhydrous product, I use a towel to dry the cat as much as possible, but the cat's hair is not very soft. Maybe this product can remove some of the stains, but I think it is still a good idea to give your cat a bath with water on a regular basis.
