I have an old Merkur and the Rockwell 6c. To me, the Thorn provides the best shave by it's inherent design. It is aggressive without being ridiculous, and pleasantly audible with every pass. Great for a quick shave before a date or for more detailed work when time provides, the mantis looking head is slim enough for tight corners. I highly recommend.

After buying the Leaf Thorn razor, I must admit I’m very pleased with its performance. For thesake of context let me say a few things first. 1) I chose the Thorn version over the Twig since mynormally coarse facial hair has evolved into an even more stubborn “gray bristle” variety. 2) Iprefer razors with some heft to them. 3) Past experience leads me to never use the bladesincluded with new razors regardless of price. That being said, the Thorn works wonderfully! I getan effortless shaving experience with a design that rinses easily and allows precise control inevery area. Although it was lighter than expected and obviously biased towards the handle, itfeels great in the hand and requires no extra effort (pressure against your face) to get the jobdone. My usual two passes produces a clean, close shave with no irritation. The includedblades were added to my growing “zombie apocalypse use only” pile since folding my usualbrand blades in half is quite simple and cost effective. If you’re in the market for a new razoryou should seriously consider this one!
