This is a sort of old timey shaving cream. I'm used to the kind that squirts out of a can and is very thick and foamy. That's not what this is. This is a lot more like thick soap (paste) that you mix with hot water and apply it to your skin with your hand or a brush. It was a little bit surprising at first because it never really lathered up and stayed pretty thin.After getting over the initial surprise, I have to say that this does work pretty well. I was surprised because I didn't think it would be smooth enough. In the end the razor slid across my skin just fine, and in fact I ended up with a closer shave than my gel normally gives me. I guess that because this is so much thinner than the gel, it could allow a closer shave?On the negative side, because the texture is thinner the blades are rougher on my skin. So, it might not be the best thing for sensitive areas. In those spots, I just ended up going a lot slower and being a little bit more careful than normal and I had no real problems. It just took longer.A few oddities: the label on the back was taken from what is obviously an aerosol can because it talks about the contents being under pressure and a few other things that clearly don't apply to the jar of shaving paste. It makes me wonder if the ingredients on the label are 100% accurate. This is a product of China and marketed by a U.S. company. I am assuming everything is all hygienic, and I haven't had any problems with using it, but there was number country of origin in the ad and I thought the issue was relevant.

This means my razor clogged up and needed to be rinsed after every stroke, and it also kept me from achieving as close of a shave as I can with other products.The good thing about this product though is the Goldilocks “just right” smell - not too strong… not too subtle… it smells just right.Overall, I will have to work with this product some more. But on a daily basis, I prefer to use my regular shaving pastes and gels instead of this product, because the other products are easier to spread in a thinner layer, yielding a closer shave.

I’ve been using this product for approximately two weeks. I must say, the texture of the cream goes on really smooth and does not create any redness or irritation to my skin. The smell of the product is very light and not over powering and the cream allows me to get a very good shave. I would recommend this product for men with sensitive skin.
