The Velona USDA Certified Organic Sunflower Oil is a fantastic addition to my kitchen and skincare routine. Its high oleic content and cold-pressed extraction method ensure both quality and purity. I've used it for cooking, and it imparts a light, nutty flavor to dishes while retaining its nutritional benefits. Additionally, as a carrier oil for skincare, it absorbs well into the skin, leaving it moisturized without feeling greasy. The only reason I'm not giving it a full five stars is because of the packaging; a pump or pour spout would make dispensing easier. Overall, it's a great product that I would recommend to others.

Product: velona USDA Certified Organic Sunflower OilFrom digging on the internet, it seems that sunflower oil is actually quite popular in the kitchen in European countries such as France, mostly due to the oil’s high smoke point. However, its usage is quite controversial as the (healthy) omega-6 polyunsaturated fats are highly unstable upon being heated, and can produce toxic byproducts above 356F (similar reason to why olive oil shouldn’t be heated for too long); granted, most deep frying temperature is between 325 - 375F. Still, there seems to be an increasing number of articles that suggest against its usage for high-temperature cooking in the past 2 years. Therefore, this rating is mostly to suggest people to do their own research before deciding its usage and to not solely believe the bottle’s instructions. For now, I think for cooking, it’s best to follow a similar practice as cooking with olive oil to reap the benefits of healthy fats and vitamin E. Otherwise, the taste and scent are pretty mild imo, and the oil has various good skincare benefits. The bottle is huge and will last a long time.

I ordered this with intentions to only use on my hair and skin. I wanted a nice carrier oil to use with my essential oils. This sunflower oil definitely did the job and I liked it so much I started to do some reading about its use. I read that so many people do use sunflower oil for cooking. Basically people interchange sunflower oil with olive oil with no complaints.This particular sunflower oil comes with a very nice push pump to dispense the product. I ordered another one just to keep in the kitchen and use for cooking. This oil seems to be basically fragrance free and taste free other than maybe having a slight nutty type of taste.My skin and hair also love this product. I use it in many ways as a carrier oil for deep hair penetrating treatments, with essential oils and mixed with other creams and oils. My skin is dry so this does not make my skin excessively oily when I use it. I use sparingly so it's not like I slather it on so my skin has a chance to soak it up.Very pleased! My skin and hair really love this product and I will be a regular user going forward!

I hadn't realized how versatile sunflower oil is until I tested/reviewed Velona's organic sunflower oil. It is certainly not just for cooking. Comes in a 32 fl. oz. size bottle. There is a cap on the bottle for shipping/storage but it comes with another cap that can be pressed to open/close/pour. Also included is a pump though I'm not able to use mine-I accidentally broke it. As you can see on my photo, the expiration date is stamped on the label of the bottle.So far, I used the oil to saute some vegetables and it worked beautifully. (This was the first time i've ever cooked with sunflower oil) But I'm also using it on my skin because its is one heck of a moisturizer. Its easy to work into skin and absorption is pretty fast. A little oil goes a very long way. Its not terribly greasy while awaiting absorption and once it occurs it doesn't leave a greasy feel behind. I plan on using it on my hair as well in the near future.The oil is unscented. I have very sensitive skin and experience no issues using this.The price is very reasonable for this excellent quality sunflower oil. I'll purchase it again in the future though I think this bottle is going to last quite some time.
